Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA Therapy) Consultations

Applied Behaviour Analysis is the science in which the principles of the analysis of behaviour are applied systematically to improve socially significant behaviour” (Cooper, Heron and Heward, 2007).

All evidence-based ABA interventions aim to improve the lives of their clients by bringing about positive changes to observable behaviours. This is done by identifying functional relations between antecedent, behaviours and consequences through continuous data collection. ABA therapy focuses on acquisition of skills and reduction of barriers to learning, simultaneously through assessments, observations and Individual Therapy Plans (ITP). Strategies used include functional communication training, token economy systems, behaviour contracts, visual supports, behavioural skills training.

ABA therapy has been found to be successful with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), learning difficulties, phobias, separation anxiety, toilet training needs, among others. ABA is also widely used in schools and classrooms around the world to help students across the board.

We offer 1:1 ABA sessions in class or pull out. Therapists will work on each clients individual goals that are developed based off an initial assessment, in collaboration with parents and school staff.
